Online CPD

The aim of this CPD is to provide an overview of online safety and ways to protect yourself. 

This CPD module relates to the following GDC outcome:
A - Effective communication with patients, the dental team and others across dentistry, including when obtaining consent, dealing with complaints, and raising concerns when patients are at risk.
B – Effective management of self and effective management of others or effective work with others in the dental team, in the interests of patients providing constructive leadership where appropriate.
C – Maintenance and development of your knowledge and skills within your field(s) of practice.
D – Maintenance of skills, behaviours and attitudes which maintain patient confidence in your and the dental professions and put patients’ interests first. 

• Identify the potential hazards of online usage
• Describe what is cyberbullying and explain how to identify it
• Describe what is identity theft and explain measures to prevent it
• Describe what is scams and phishing and explain how to identify it
• Describe what is considered inappropriate content
• Explain data privacy concerns and how to prevent it
