The aim of this module is to give you an awareness of what dementia is, how it can present in dental patients who suffer from the disease, to recognise what the early signs are and how these patients can be supported in the dental practice.

• Be aware of the more common progressive conditions that come under dementia
• Recognise the early signs of dementia
• Understand how to communicate with patients who suffer from dementia
• Be aware key principles of legislation concerning dementia
