Online CPD

Module 2 of the cross-infection control CPD topic looks at basic steps you can take to keep yourself safe when you are in and around the clinical environment.This includes personal hygiene, personal protective equipment and understanding when hand hygiene routines should be performed.

The aims of this module are to understand of appropriate personal hygiene routines and understand the importance and use of PPE.

This CPD module provides you with 2 hours GDC verifiable CPD.

This module will help you to:

• Outline appropriate personal hygiene routines
• Understand the term PPE
• Identify the need for different PPE, as well as ordering the steps involved when removing it
• Identify the differences between hand washing and hand hygiene
• Name the different types of hand hygiene and state when hand hygiene is required
• List the correct stages for performing hand washing
