In today’s digital world, social media plays a huge part in our daily lives. But with that comes the responsibility to ensure our online spaces are healthy, inclusive, and supportive for everyone. That’s where #ReclaimSocial comes in.
Taking place on 6th February, #ReclaimSocial is an awareness campaign that encourages all of us to take control of our online experiences. Now in its 8th year, the campaign calls on individuals, organisations, and social platforms to work together to create more positive, supportive, and community-focused online spaces.
In recent years, social media has often been a place for negativity, misinformation, and toxicity. But it doesn’t have to be this way. By reclaiming our digital spaces, we can champion inclusive conversations, promote safety, and empower others to use these platforms for connection and awareness.
At Tempdent, we’re passionate about supporting our community of learners, candidates and employers, both online and offline. Whether you engage in encouraging conversations or help spread awareness about the #ReclaimSocial movement, every action counts in building a better, more inclusive online environment.
Kat Michaels, Head of Teaching, Education Welfare and Safeguarding Lead at Tempdent says, "With a lot of AI now supporting us online to do our work, an element of human caution is required. We need to be aware of what is true and what is not online. AI is a powerful tool, but safety is the key - use it wisely, guide it ethically, and let it enhance, not endanger, our future."
Let’s take a stand today for a brighter, healthier tomorrow - both in the digital world and beyond. Reclaim your social spaces, because when our online environment is positive, it benefits us all.
