Have you progressed into the role of Practice Manager after being a dental nurse or receptionist? Have you received any formal training? Do you feel that you are lacking in knowledge?
Many Practice Managers have not had any formal training which can leave them facing a challenging role without critical knowledge of management theories and understanding of the standards required. This practical course provides individuals with an excellent foundation for being a successful operational manager. Conversely, there are practice managers that have not got a dental background who would benefit from a deeper understanding of the dental field.
This new qualification was created by the Trailblazer for Dental Health and Health Education England and incorporates management and dental units. It is delivered via our online blended learning platform via a combination of workshop/webinar training and workplace based assessments.
Cathy Vincini, Tempdent’s Quality and Curriculum Manager said, “We are very excited to be launching the Dental Practice Manager Apprenticeship in January 2018. The qualification will take individuals up to 18 months to complete and is a government funded course, offering a formal qualification for Dental Practice Managers. This qualification will include units accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management.”
What are the benefits?
“There are many benefits to doing the course for both the practice and the individuals. The individual will learn about human resources, patient care, marketing, quality assurance and risk management. Whilst the practice will gain highly skilled employees who understand how to deliver excellent customer service and develop effective relationships” explains Cathy.
